  1. A zebra is a black and white striped member 
  2. of the HORSE genus Equus found in Africa. The 
  3. stripes serve as camouflage or dazzle and 
  4. confuse predators. It is about 1½m (5ft) high 
  5. at the shoulder, with a stout body and a 
  6. short, thick mane. Zebras live in family 
  7. groups and herds on mountains and plains,and 
  8. can run at up to 60kph (40mph). Males are 
  9. usually solitary.
